Sword Scabbards - Anatomy of a Scabbard

Scabbards through the ages have different components and styles and so these pictures will identify which components you want or need.

The scabbard is made from poplar and covered in leather. Scabbards during the Migration, Saxon and Viking eras were often lined with fur/fleece so we do this as standard. Medieval and renaissance scabbards were generally not lined, so we do not line them either.

Tods Stuff scabbards always come with a belt that is fitted to hang your sword correctly and all the required metalwork to connect the belt to the scabbard, to buckle it up and to protect the tip of the scabbard.
