Bollock daggers were around from late 13thC until the mid to late 16thC and popular across North Western Europe but particularly so in England, Holland and Flanders.

Early ones had no metal guard, later ones very often did.

Lower classes usually had single edged bollock dagger with quite short stout blades, the richer you were the more elegant the blade and the more elaborate the hilt.
